Some students, while studying, try to recall read information by re-writing them. What they don't know is that they are using an intelligent study method. Experimental studies conducted in 1917 show that this is an effective method of studying. A psychological effect, known as Testing Effect, explains that information is easily recalled if, during the course of study or review, the student/reviewer tries to recall the information by rewriting what he has read, offhand, as opposed to re-reading or re-studying the material. This is so because rewriting offhand causes the information to be recalled and thus stored in the long term memory while re-studying doesn\\\'t involve memory recollection. Information that is difficult to recall is difficult to forget while those recalled easily may be easily forgotten. This is known as \\\'active recall\\\' or \\\'retrieval\\\' and is an effective way through which information can be stored in the long term memory. This also works if the student formulates questions based on the topic as he studies, and supplying the answers at the end of the study. #psychology #facts #iniodu
